Roasted Chickpeas

Move over, popcorn. Bacon Fat transforms this crunchy snack. 

  • 1 15-oz. can chickpeas, rinsed and drained

  • 3 Tbs. Aux Délices des Bois Bacon Fat, at a liquid temperature 

  • Salt

  • Optional spices, such as pumpkin pie spice, cumin, curry, or Cajun

Preheat the oven to 425F.  

Pat the chickpeas dry. Very dry. Toss with the bacon fat. 

Line a heavy bottomed baking sheet with parchment. Spread the chickpeas in one layer, not touching.

Roast until brown and crunchy, shaking the pan every 10 minutes or so, about 20 minutes.   

Toss with salt and spices, if desired.
